What is Wax?
Wax is a form of solvent concentrate. It is made through a process that uses a solvent, usually butane, to push the various active ingredients of herb out of the plant matter. Once this is done it is important to remove all the solvent from the solution. This is done by boiling it off. Obviously, butane is an explosive chemical, so it isn’t a great idea to have it around high temperatures, so to avoid any explosions its necessary to use a vacuum oven.
The vacuum oven lowers the air pressure around the solvent mixture, lowering its boiling point to a safe temperature, once the solvent has been boiled off you’re left with one of three results. Oil, a runny, honey-like chemical; Shatter a brittle, potent concentrate; and of course, wax, a crumbly, sticky concentrate.
What are The Pros of Wax?
Wax, like all concentrates, is many times more powerful than its equivalent mass in dry herb.
Why Should You Use A Wax Vaporizer?
Much like with dry herb, there is a huge range of concentrate vaporizers that will allow you to enjoy wax. These are often known as ‘Wax pens’, and they allow you to vaporize wax easily and discreetly. A popular wax pen is the Linx Hypnos Zero, a sleek, silver aluminum vaporizer that uses a compact and efficient heating system to deliver fantastic and smooth hits from your concentrate. The Hypnos is a super-portable device that combines reliability with usability, and there’s a dash of style thrown in there, too.
Wax pens have all of the advantages of other vaporizers. They allow users to enjoy wax without having to worry about combustion and the problems that come with that. They’re also incredibly portable, allowing users to enjoy their concentrates wherever they want, and whenever they need.
